Erewash Museum, Ilkeston are putting on a Free Mining Exhibition 3rd May - 24th July Mining Memories Event - Saturday 19 May FREE - 11am to 3pm Join Nottinghamshire Ex and Retired Miners Association as they hold a special day to celebrate the importance of coal mining to the history of the local area
The site begun as a tribute to my
father-in-law, Philip Healey, Mines Rescue Officer at Ilkeston. It now concentrates on what it is/was like to be a miner what it was like to live in a mining family, or as in Philip's case a mines rescue family.
