The Lundhill Colliery where the explosion occurred in 1857 killing 189 men and boys was very close to where I live. I was very interested to read an extract from a paper given by P.H.Holland to the arts society in 1859 on the Lundhill Disaster. I would be extremely pleased and grateful if you could tell me how I could purchase his paper on the Lundhill explosion 19th February 1857.

W.T. Hollins is looking for a copy of the Lundhill explosion.W.T. has read an article of mine "The Prevention of Accidents in coal Mines" where P.H. Holland, in his capacity of "Inspector of Burials"gave a short report of his dealings with the burials.W.T. needs HMI of Mines report on the disaster. I'm sure it will be available in the archives where W.T. lives.I have attached some information that will also help as W.T. Hollins lives in that area.Best wishes,John
Information for W.T. Hollins
Description: A tall dark obelisk mounted on a pedestal and base, resting on two steps, located at the edge of the churchyard above a slope to the River Dearne.
Each face of the plinth has an outstanding inscribed surface. Above the upper lip of the pedestal there is a small floral wreath and scroll on each side of the monument.
Inscriptions: There are biblical texts on all four faces of the plinth; the front of the monument also contains the following:

Of February 19th 1857,
In Which
One Hundred And Eighty Nine
Men And Boys Lost Their Lives;
Of Whose Bodies,
One Hundred And Forty Six
Are Buried
