Any help would do just a start so we can locate their graves and find out more about them. I hope I have come onto the correct sight for this information. Many Thanks Hi Fionn Cheers Alan Beales

Dear Sir I am trying to get some information on my grandfather Harold Blaxland Atkinson and his father my great grandfather George Blaxland Atkinson. They were Timber Importers, and Ship Brokers based in the UK with contacts in New Brunswick Canada c/o H.B.Atkinson B.C.P. Ltd They both seem to of been involved with imports and exports of timber for the coal mines of the UK. Their business address was at Edinburgh Life Buildings, Mosley Street Newcastle From what I have found out they were both living in or at Long Benton Cottage, Long Benton, Tyneside, in the Parish of St Bartholomew. My Great grandfather also had a home at High Clear Slaley. My mother was at school Kings-Edghill in New Brunswick Canada between 1940 1944, but I can find no information from the address from where his base was in Canada. I do hope that you can help or steer me in the right direction. Regards 7, Streather Drive, |

My grandfather was a mine rescue worker at the central rescue station at Houghton-le-Spring. His name was Oswald Robinson. I don’t know when he worked there and I would like to find out. Is there an online list anywhere of employees at this station with dates? If not where could I find out such information? Thank you Philip H Robinson |

I am looking for some information on a family member John (Jack) Fowkes he worked and lost an arm at 14 years of age in headstock Shiplet Woodside Pit. We are currently researching a bit of family history for a scrapbook / family tree project. We believe the mine unions at the time took up the matter (many years later)and eventually got him a pension or compensation. Any help would be great. We have some old pictures of him should they be of any help to you (non of them have the mine in the background) Regards |
