Firstly great site, from the age of 16 to the age of 32 years old was my fantastic years down Coventry Mine, I worked as a supply lad to completing my face training at 21, by 25 years old I had completed my Deputies papers; becoming colliery overman later, was the greatest achievement in my entire life.

These memories will stay with me to the day I die, my father recently passed away and he too was a miner all his life. Coal mining was in our blood and always will be, my very own (1846) Davey lamp takes pride of place still after all these years, now 50 years old and having our Coventry mine closed 20 years ago reunion on November 5th 2011, looking forward to seeing some very lost friends and to also honor them that have very sadly passed on.
