EDWARDS James - 1807 - 22/03/1807. Camerton, Somerset. His business it was to see the coal brought to the surface at the Old Pit in reaching over too far to stay the basket which was coming up fell to the bottom and was
dashed to pieces. Horrid to say, his last word was an oath when he found himself going. He left a widow and four children at Cridlingcot.
