Andrew was a miner and trade union man born in Crosshouse near Kilmarnock, he went on to become Prime Minister of Australia 3 times between 1908 and 1915 and a High Commissioner thereafter. Fisher's second government between 1910 and 1913 completed a vast legislative programme which made him, along with Protectionist Alfred Deakin, the founder of the statutory structure of the new nation - See Wikipedia
