Warsop Main Closed After 95 Years

The photos show the demolition of one of the headgears following the filling of the shafts with limestone chippings. The first headstock was blown down on 23 Oct 1991 and second headstock on 28 Nov 1991

  • Peter Hughes, a friend, Electrical Shift Charge Engineer was transferred from Glapwell in 1974 on closure and stayed on after the closure of Warsop on maintenance work for the Cementation Co doing demolition work -1990.
