My father, Arthur Marsh, had an accident at Pleasley Colliery in 1939 or 1940 in which he broke his back. He went to Berry Hill convelescene home and when he returned to work a film was made of it. I have searched everywhere and can find nothing.
Visit Pleasely Colliery Website I have found the film I was looking for about my dads accident at Pleasley Colliery on itvsource reuters. Derbyshire county council found it for me. Please take a look at it, it is silent but very interesting and very emotional for me and my sister. New treatment for spinal injuries in mining
The film is silent, my dad is the one being bought up the mine, having an xray and being plastered. Then you can see him skipping, lying on the ground lifting his leg and arms, having the plaster off and then going down the mine again, he is the one on the left. I hope that you see it, especially the old ambulance leaving the pit. Regards Pauline McKay
