Talk O The Hill Disaster 1866 - Could Thomas Knowels have been a relative?

Sir,

I had relatives living at Talk O'th Hill at the time of the above disaster, their surnames were Knowles and I'm wondering if the victim of the disaster named Thomas Knowels could have been a relation of mine? I would appreciate any information you or your friends may have.

Incidentally my husband’s uncle, Herbert Bourne was killed in the Sneyd Pit disaster of 1942, would you know anything about the memorial which is supposed to erected at Burslem?

Kindest Regards,
Mrs L Bourne,

Welshpool,
Powys.

Hi Fionn,
Mrs L. Bourne sent in a message on 7th May 2007 inquiring of a memorial to the miners killed in the Sneyd explosion of 1942. It will probably be unveiled at the end of May, I will send you a picture.
John.
