Rev June Steventon - We would like to mark the Maypole Disaster of 1908 tragedy in 2008

Hi Fionn
This is just to say that Abram Community Link and Abram Church are holding a special Service to commemorate the Maypole Disaster of 1908.

It will take place on Sunday 17th August at 2pm; beginning at the site of the Colliery which is now a new housing estate and processing to the Churchyard to the memorial.

Change of Date

During the week prior to the Service the church is holding an exhibition of Abram and mining.

When I have more exact details I wil let you know.

with kind regards

June Steventon

One and All
The campaign to mark coalmines on Ordnance Survey Maps is being re-launched this Summer! Starting with the Durham Miners' gala this weekend, we will be hosting a stall launching the new Pin the Pits campaign.

Come and visit us to see artwork as well as a couple of mining films to watch.

Our theme is 'bread and butter issues' so please come and join us ! :-)

Hope to see you there!

Best Wishes
Rachel
