Eccles SL Lamps which appear to have electronic Ignition - How do they work, can you get spares?

Hi
I have acquired a number of old lamps which I am attempting to put back into working order. I have 2 Eccles SL Lamps which appear to have some form of electronic Ignition. 2 vertical terminals (One with a wire between the other with the wire missing) Question How do they work and can you get spares? Both have numbers cold stamped into the name plates which I assume identified the miner. Ive asked down the miners welfare but the Backworth mines closed in the 70s and its now more golfers than ex miners. Your help would be much appreciated.
Regards Gordon Nicholson

Any Information - Just purchased a 2½ inch Lindsay Colliery lamp

Just purchased a 2½ inch Lindsay Colliery lamp from the Spay and Neuter Animal Network (SPAN) thrift store in Ventura, California.

Interesting to experience what this little gadget is as we at the store were unsure.

Do you have an indication as to whom A. Hunter listed on the face plate between the words Lindsay Colliery was or is?

THANK YOU for any help you can provide to me.  I am rather curious.

Susan Wells

Miners lamps showing the pits Butcher Wood and Silver Hill

Too whom it may concern, I have 2 lamps (brass) about 4" tall each with it's own pit disc dictating the pits from around the Ashfield area, each of the lamps comes in it's own box (black) with "The Lamp Cabin" written on them.

I wondered if, there was a collection of such lamps, and where I could obtain the information on them? I've looked around on the internet and scoured the sites looking...... then came across your website showing similar ones too those I have got!

If you can help please get in touch.

Thank you.

Wolf Type Mine Lamp, Paraffin just leaks everywhere

Good day

I have an OLD lamp the wolf type Victor Kent brass logo on it. I would just like to know how to refill it and get it back in working condition after all these years. I have noticed it little iron pipe like thing from on the outside of the lamp but if I do inject Paraffin in there it just leaks everywhere.

Would be glad if you van assist me.
