The Lindsay Colliery was not in Cowdenbeath It was at the bottom of Station Road Kelty. Kelty is 3 miles from Cowdenbeath and was and still is a totally different place.

In the glossary of terms section under Carbon Monoxide it states that it explodes between 5% and 9%.
 
The actual explosive range of Carbon Monoxide is 12.5% to 74%.
 
Hope I`m not being too pedantic.
 
By the way I was a Mines Rescue Brigade member for 18 years.
