Hatfield Colliery

I was surprised to find the place little changed
Alan Murray-Rust - Page 1/3

I was looking for an update on the situation at Hatfield which I revisited last Sunday (16 July 2006) for photographic purposes for the first time in 2 years.

I had not heard the news about the potential reopening, so was surprised to find the place little changed – some fire damage to the main office building was the most noticeable – and that the upcast shaft was even winding!

I found the report dated February this year about the proposed reopening, and later cross references under Rossington. Do you have any information as to how realistic the project actually is?

Attached are a couple of pictures from Sunday, on the next page are some links to pictures of mine on a German photographic website (don’t ask!!). If you browse this further you will find a number of other pictures of collieries in various countries scattered among my principal interest of trams, trains and trolleybuses.
Kind Regards
