Hi I’m looking for a gift for my partner for fathers day, his father worked at Bickershaw mine all his life unfortunately he died about 15 years ago. I was looking for something related to this mine to remind us all of him as he has a grandaughter he never met. I have no idea where to start looking and wondered if you could give me some advice. Regards From: Joseph Henshaw For a more generic gift she could visit the National Mining Museum near WAkefield which has loads of stuff. |

Many thanks Tina Spencer. You could try Lee Phillips at leephillips@btconnect.com he was marketing Bills work. Or there is David Sawyer at dave@davidjohnsawyer.co.uk. He has a painting on the page:- http://www.healeyhero.co.uk/rescue/hobbies/sawyer.htm Or Lydia Solomon, at www.lydiasart.com email lydia@artsociety.net |

I have just seen a very powerful signed charcoal drawing of miners by George Bissell, an artist featured on your site and wonder if you have any information about him. Thank you. Yours The only artist I can find, on the site with charcoal drawings is Bill Bennett and can be found at:- |

Hi I wonder if you can help us. We are a large medal dealer based in Yorkshire and have been asked to have a plaque made which includes the coat of arms which appears on the N.C.B. 10 years Mines Rescue Service Medal. We have been given a photocopy of the medal, but unfortunately it is in black and white. Inscribed on the reverse of the medal is: R. Williams Wakefield Rescue Station. We urgently need a colour version of the picture of this medal so we can have the plaque made as it is to be presented at the Yacht Club here in Bridlington. Any help you can give would be very much appreciated. Regards Bev Hurrell
