Crook Rescue Team

Hi........my name is Eddie Worthington and I am from County Durham, I worked in the pits for a short time when I left school, but I saw the light (get it) anyway the photo I have sent you was found behind another picture in a frame I bought at a car boot sale, it is Crook Rescue Team from County Durham but we have no pits left so I thought you might like it.

Harton or Westoe Colliery Rescue Team

My late father is on the left back row and I think the photograph would 1925 to 1938 and the team would be at Harton or Westoe Colliery in South Shields. Question, have you any records for the rescue teams of these pits and times ie when they would be called out. I have trawled through the old Gazettes without success. Or am I wasting me time looking for none existing records?

Hi, this is a photo of my great grandfather, superintendant, Bartholomew Lawrence Wilson, it was taken at Ashby-De-La-Zouch or Ilkeston, probably late 19th or early twentieth century thought you might like it, could you confirm if I am correct with dates and places....Jim

I have enhanced the door of the Rescue vehicle and it has the beginnings of
Leicestershire at the top and part of Ashby-De-La Zouch at the bottom.

Looking at the vehicle I would guess around 1920's
