Sherwood Colliery

This photo shows myself at the drill rig. Operators position on the In Seam Miner.
I must add that there were two of these rigs, but they were never used.

The ISM was in the deep hard/piper seam and this machine cut a roadway section of 27ft wide by 10ft high
and advanced at one Inch per minute, though this rate of advance could not be maintained due to setting roadway supports
and the advancement of services.

This photo shows myself situated at the drivers position of the ISM.

Looking down the chock track on 125s coal face in the Deep Hard/Piper.

Sherwood Colliery canteen when it first opened.
