Other Fatalities

  • In MemoryA Polish miner crawled under the gate at the surface and committed suicide by jumping down the No2 shaft sometime in the late 1970s app.
  • Another miner was cut in two whilst getting on the bottom deck of the cage at No2 manriding shaft when the engine driver moved the cage. Reason unknown.
